Affective Commitment And Organizational Citizenship Behaviors: Evidence From Frontline Employees In Algerian Commercial Banks

Authors : Khellafi Salima .

Abstract

The study aims to identify the impact of affective commitment as defined by Mowday, Porter and Steers (1979) in predicting organization-oriented citizenship behaviors (sportsmanship and civic virtues) as defined by Organ (1988), using a randomly selected sample of two hundred five of frontline employees in commercial banks in Algiers. The results were calculated employing the SmartPLS program for structural equation modeling. The results reveal the positive and consist impact of affective commitment on organization-oriented citizenship as one dimension and on civic virtues and sportsmanship as separated dimensions.
