Abstract
• Professor Rachid Bourouiba, one of Algeria’s most prominent archaeologists and historians, known as the Dean of Algerian archaeologists, possesses a significant scholarly legacy reflected in his excavation activities, particularly the excavation of the Qal‘at Bani Hammad. In this context, we aim to highlight his efforts in excavation and archaeological research, as well as his contributions to the study of applied arts, Arabic calligraphy, epigraphy, ornamentation, and Islamic coinage in Algeria during the medieval period
