Abstract: Corruption is a major threat to the country, due to its negative impact on the economic, social, and political structure. This necessitates concerted efforts at the international and national levels to combat it, as it constitutes one of the main obstacles to achieving sustainable development and one of the factors undermining democratic institutions. It also fuels conflicts and hinders the establishment of peace. Accordingly, through the 2020 constitutional amendment, the Algerian legislature sought to renew its international commitments to the United Nations Convention against Corruption, ratified on April 19, 2004, and the Arab Convention against Corruption, ratified on September 8, 2014. This was demonstrated by the development of a multifaceted national strategy through which the state seeks to create preventive and deterrent mechanisms to combat this scourge, with the participation of all concerned parties, in accordance with Article 184 of the Algerian Constitution. This was effectively embodied in Law 22-08 establishing the High Authority for Transparency and the Fight against Corruption. This study aims to: First, demonstrate the extent to which Algerian legislation in the field of preventing and combating corruption is compatible with the 2003 United Nations Convention against Corruption. Second, highlight relevant sustainable measures and tools, which are a national requirement for combating corruption and instilling a culture of transparency and integrity. We also seek to assess the quality of the corruption prevention strategy by aligning objectives and means of achievement.
