Authors : Bahi Imane .

Abstract

This study investigates the correlation between the youth screen use habits and the formation and production of emotions. Scrolling is a virtually made relational space that creates emotional flows which pushes to either acting in harmony and belonging to the emotion that has been watched or creating a new emotion towards a specific political or social issue. The study uses the qualitative analysis of digital uses for a deep understanding and a more accurate scope of young people interaction with media, and how they actively recreate the political and media scenes. So the virtual space is a field for existential test and searching for the digital user’ self. The main finding of this study is that the media doses consumed by the user are chosen by a self-editor in chief whom emotions are affected by some social and political issues. In addition, the increase immersion with electronic scrolling amplifies the emotions that trigger the adoption of attitudes and responses towards the selected cases.
