Abstract

This study aims to elucidate the marriage customs and distinctive features of marriage in Mzabite society during the nineteenth century. Mzabite norms and traditions constitute a distinctive model among Saharan societies, particularly in matters of family formation. That distinctiveness is evident in rites and practices that draw largely on Islamic law and are overseen by local religious and social bodies. These institutions safeguarded the integrity of the family and enabled it to withstand both internal and external challenges. يهدف هذا البحث الى ابراز عادات ومميزات الزواج في المجتمع المزابي خلال القرن التاسع عشر، حيث تعد الأعراف والتقاليد الميزابية نموذجا فريدا في المجتمعات الصحراوية لاسيما في تكوين الاسرة، ونلمس ذلك التميز والانفراد في الطقوس والعادات التي تستمد في أغلبها من الشريعة الإسلامية، وتتولاها هيئات دينية واجتماعية محلية حافظت على كينونة هذه الأسرة حيث وقفت بفضلها في وجه التحديات الداخلية والخارجية.
