Economic investors are constantly interested in analyzing banks' financial performance, which is essential for guiding their investment decisions. In this paper, we employ Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) techniques—specifically the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and the Combined Compromise Solution (CoCoSo) method—to evaluate the financial performance of Algerian public banks based on multiple criteria derived from financial ratios. The AHP method is applied to determine the relative importance (weights) of the evaluation criteria, whereas the CoCoSo method is employed to rank the banks based on their overall performance. To our knowledge, this study is the first to combine AHP and CoCoSo for a comparative analysis of banking performance, as well as to apply these methods to the evaluation of Algerian public banks based on financial ratio criteria. Experimental results showed that the best-performing bank was BADR, followed by CPA, while BEA came last.
