Abstract: The Greek historian Diodorus Siculus (90–30 B.C) was one of the prominent figures of classical historiography, renowned for his comprehensive encyclopedia "The Library of History", which comprised 40 books. Although parts of it have been lost, the work has maintained significant reference value, becoming a fundamental source for later scholars in their studies. In the first eight paragraphs of his first book, Diodorus emphasized the importance of honoring historians and their contributions, as well as employing history as a tool to deepen human wisdom and shape collective identity. He sought to present a comprehensive narrative of humanity’s historical development while simplifying knowledge to make it accessible to readers, Despite the limited resources of his era, Diodorus diligently combined scientific methodology with rational analysis and observation to interpret events. Although his analytical tools were rudimentary compared to modern standards, his commitment to this approach did not entirely prevent him from occasionally resorting to conjecture or integrating mythological accounts, sometimes at the expense of precise event analysis and narrative neutrality. Nevertheless, his encyclopedia remains a unique document that sheds light on the trajectory of historical and human thought, making it a rich resource for academic research in historical studies.
