The leaders of the Algerian Revolution defined the parameters and convictions regarding the role of institutions in activating and translating the set of trends, beliefs, and sentiments that give order and meaning to the revolutionary process. One of its hallmarks was the establishment of the Provisional Government of the Algerian Republic, members of which led negotiations with the French authorities to end the Algerian War of Independence. The Evian Accords, unanimously approved by the National Council of the Algerian Revolution at its session held in Tripoli from February 22 to 27, 1962, concluded the process. Following the signing of these agreements on March 18, 1962, Ben Youssef Ben Khedda, as Prime Minister of the Provisional Algerian Government, delivered a speech to the Algerian people on Radio Tunis on the eve of the signing of the Evian Accords. He informed them of the results of the negotiations, which culminated in a victory over the colonial entity, restoring national sovereignty and ending the French colonial era on Algerian soil.
