Female Infertility: A Psychosomatic Approach

Abstract

Abstract This study aimed to clarify the psychological factors that contribute to female infertility when the diagnosis of an obstetrician and gynecologist confirms the absence of any organic cause in either partner. Here, we sought to clarify the psychological factors contributing to female infertility through a psychosomatic approach, based on classical and modern theories based on psychoanalysis. These factors are related to early psychological conflicts and unconscious repressions related to femininity and motherhood. We will review the most important psychological factors that can clarify and open the way for psychotherapy instead of the traditional reliance on medical treatment alone. We will also instill a culture of therapeutic integration (both medical and psychological), thus increasing the chances of pregnancy for women suffering from infertility without a notable organic cause. ملخص هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى توضيح العوامل النفسية التي تساهم في ظهور العقم عند المرأة، حين نتـأكد من تشخيص أخصائي أمراض النساء و التوليد من عدم وجود أي سبب عضوي لدى الزوجين على حد سواء، هنا أردنا رفع اللبس عن العوامل النفسية لدى المرأة التي تساهم في ظهور العقم لديها ، من خلال مقاربة سيكوسوماتية، ترjكز على نظريات كلاسيكية و حديثة تستند على نظريات التحليل النفسي. لها علاقة بصراعات نفسية مبكرة و مكبوتات لاشعوريىة خاصة بالأنوثة و الأمومة ، سنستعرض أهم العوامل النفسة التي من شأنها أن توضح و تفتح المجال للعلاج النفسي بدلا من الاعتماد الكلاسيكي على الجانب الطبي وحده . و غرس ثقافة التكامل العلاجي (طبي و نفسي في آن واحد)، حتى نزيد من حظوظ الحمل للنساء اللواتي يعانون من العقم دون سبب عضوي يذكر.
