Authors : Frihi Asma . Ali Zoui Mahfoud .

Abstract

One of the obvious obstacles that has long hindered development programmes in Africa is instability. Terrorism, coups d’état and conflicts have shaped the political landscape of many countries in the continent in the last few decades. The African Union’s long-term strategic framework for transforming Africa into a prosperous, peaceful, and integrated continent by the year 2063, Agenda 2063, which was adopted in 2013, gave priority to this crucial issue. This paper sheds light on Algeria’s implementation of the AU's Agenda 2063 and its contribution to the success of this initiative through its active membership in the AU's agencies, including the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD) , which serves as the implementing arm for the AU's Agenda 2063 development strategy. One major focus of the paper is on the Algerian approach to governance and peace building to achieve the goals of Agenda 2063, ensuring a peaceful, secure, and prosperous continent for future generations.
