This quasi-experimental research investigates the effect of implementing a novel-based creative writing workshop on English as a Foreign Language (EFL) students’ creative writing level. The study was conducted following the one-group pretest/posttest design with 14 Master One EFL students enrolled at Chadli Bendjedid University. The research findings revealed that the participants’ scores significantly increased; thus, the novel-based creative writing workshop proved to be effective in improving EFL students’ creative writing levels. The study concludes with a set of recommendations to make Chadli Bendjedid University in collaboration, with the Department of English, a cultural centre that implements and encourages creative writing.
