From Oil Dependency To Sustainability: A Case Study On Algeria’s Economic Diversification Journey

Abstract

The future of economies worldwide, especially in light of global concerns like resource depletion, political unrest, and climate change. Economic diversification and sustainable development will have a significant impact on Algeria country is rich in natural resources but heavily dependent on hydrocarbons, diversification is essential. In this paper we explore Algeria's journey from independence to its present efforts to develop economic variety and pursue sustainable development. In order to diversify beyond oil and gas, support green sectors, and solve social and environmental issues, the analysis identifies both opportunities and obstacles. This study provides a roadmap for Algeria's resilient and sustainable economic future by referencing past events, present policies, and anticipated future changes. It highlights the importance of strategic planning, innovation, and climate resilience.
