The advancement of technology in the age of Artificial Intelligence have led to a range of transformations in the field of International Relations, particularly within security studies. This is especially evident with the emergence of new concepts such as cybersecurity, cyberspace, and cyber warfare—developments that have impacted both the forms and patterns of interactions, as well as the roles of international actors. These changes have necessitated a redefinition of core concepts such as security, power, and other concepts that form the foundation of this field. In our study, we aimed to focus on the implications of these cyber transformations on theorizing within security studies. we concluded that most theories remain confined within a narrow military framework of security, which highlights the need for a broader and more comprehensive understanding of security, and the adoption of critical approaches capable of engaging with this fast-changing and complex reality.
