Authors : Bentoumi Ali .

Abstract

The Islamic ornamentation in the religious architecture of Tlemcen reflects a rich cultural heritage, serving as a key element of Islamic art. It highlights the Islamic civilization and spiritual manifestations of the Islamic religion, alongside Arabic calligraphy and other Islamic arts. Mosques and schools are adorned with intricate geometric patterns and beautiful Islamic decorations, such as geometric knots and floral motifs. The meticulous details in engravings and vibrant colors give these buildings a unique character. This decorative style reflects a commitment to beauty and precision in Islamic design while maintaining the spiritual essence in religious construction. In addition, distinctive geometric arches and beautiful calligraphic decorations on the walls stand out, enhancing the artistic and cultural character of Islamic architecture in Tlemcen. The influence of Andalusian elements is evident in some buildings, highlighting cultural and artistic exchange in this region.
