This paper examines the prominent Algerian poet Mohamed Laïd Al-Khalifa, whose work was foundational to the 20th-century Algerian literary movement. Al-Khalifa's poetry is distinguished by its profound artistic capability to articulate the suffering of people across the Arab world. His efforts aimed to foster Arab nationalist consciousness, enabling the nation to confront obstacles in its path toward future development. Al-Khalifa emerged as a nationalist poet through his sustained engagement with Arab national issues, which he expressed with remarkable literary eloquence. He masterfully integrated aesthetic poetic construction with nationalist discourse. It's as if he inherently understood the literary value of directing linguistic proficiency toward the creation of nationalist poetry, thereby forging a distinctive poetic style in his national verses. The poet wielded his craft to voice the anxieties and concerns of the populace, aligning himself with the struggle and revolution against the prevailing conditions of his era. This was driven by a keen awareness of the intellectual's sacred social duty to their people and nation. Recognizing the power of the word, he embraced his responsibility to disseminate awareness and guide fellow poets in liberating the Arab self from its harsh reality. He dedicated his poetry to this cause, responding to the nation's imperatives for self-affirmation and future-making.
