The portrayal of Middle Eastern women on social media has been broadly linked to patriarchal roles and religion. However, the emergence of social media platforms provided women with tools to define their own narratives. The gaps in the research include a gap in how Instagram influences the definition of cyberfeminism, as well as a gap in defining the term outside of the Western context. The research method focused on a qualitative analysis based on a purposive sampling approach to recruit 10 Emirati women with backgrounds that challenged women's traditional roles. The findings reveal that the participants initially resisted stigmas related to feminism and defined the term through a collectivist cyberfeminism framework, which focused on the empowerment of women over the use of terms related to Western ideologies and emphasized the importance of cultural preservation while embracing technological advancement.
