Hyper Competitiveness Between China And The U.s., Using The Gravity Model And Finger- Kreinin Index Over The Period 2005-2022.

Abstract

This study seeks to demonstrate the main factors determining international competitiveness between China and the United States of America in manufacturing exports over the period 2005-2022. The results indicate the existence of hyper competitiveness between them for 24 partner countries, where the Finger- Kreinin index has generally recorded high values. Both trade openness and the real gross domestic product of partner countries have a significant positive impact on China’s manufacturing exports, while the bilateral real exchange rate has a negative effect.
