This research aims to examine a central theory in contemporary philosophical and contemporary thought, namely "the need for God," through a fundamental and critical comparison between Islamic doctrine and the atheistic perspective. The research is based on the premise that the need for God represents an inherent, innate, existential dimension that cannot be ignored or denied after the invention of knowledge and science. The study focused on demonstrating the manifestations of this need in the Islamic perspective, through Quranic and prophetic texts and the opinions of theologians, along with an analysis of its psychological, spiritual, and moral dimensions. Conversely, it reviewed the position of contemporary atheistic thought, which denies the existence of God Almighty and believes that man has no need for an external supernatural power, relying on scientific and materialistic concepts. Then, the critical study, both rational and instinctive, examines atheistic thought, pointing out the shortcomings in its interpretation of the meaning of existence, its mechanisms of copyright, and psychology, and comparing this to the Islamic perspective, which calls for harmony with the body and nature. The study concluded that recognizing the need for God is not a sign of weakness, but rather an expression of a deep awareness of God's limits and purposes .
