This text discusses the importance of Maqāṣid al-Sharīʿah (the higher objectives of Islamic law) as a foundational element in Islamic jurisprudence since the era of the Prophet’s Companions. These early generations exemplified a unique model of legal reasoning, managing the affairs of the Muslim community after the Prophet’s death through sound understanding and application of the revealed texts. As Muslims later interacted with other cultures, the need arose to codify Arabic linguistic sciences and formalize the principles of jurisprudence. The study underscores the necessity of renewing Islamic legal thought through Maqāṣid to ensure the continued relevance of sacred texts in addressing contemporary issues—particularly in the face of unregulated fatwas and the encroachment of unqualified individuals into legal discourse. It emphasizes the vital role of Maqāṣid in avoiding deceptive legal stratagems that contradict the spirit and intent of Sharīʿah
