La Classification Des Levellers

Résumé
Les Levellers forment un mouvement politique issu des Indépendants et né durant la Grande Rébellion (1642-1651). Précurseurs d’idées démocratiques et défenseurs du droit de propriété, ils ont été accusés à tort par leurs ennemis de vouloir la supprimer. Aujourd’hui encore, leur mouvement est associé à des idées qu’ils n’ont point professées en raison d’une trop grande autorité accordée à leurs adversaires par certains observateurs. Or, seul un retour à leurs sources permet de véritablement identifier leurs idées et les classifier. Aussi, faisant suite à un article ayant analysé la composition du mouvement, l’article présent tente d'en faire la typologie. The Levellers were a political movement that emerged from the Independents and was born during the Great Rebellion (1642-1651). Pioneers of democratic ideas and defenders of the right to property, they have been wrongly accused by their enemies of wanting to abolish it. Even today, their movement is associated with ideas that they have not professed because of the too great authority granted to their opponents by many authors. However, analyzing their sources, makes it possible to truly identify their ideas and classify them. Also, following an article that analyzed the composition of the movement, the present article attempts to make a typology of it.
