19. Abstract: This study aims to estimate, and analyze the relationship, between public spending levels, and oil prices during the period (1980-2020). For the Algerian economy, using a non-linear regression model, with a threshold. Ramsey and the threshold test with two thresholds in the oil price, 37.90 and 96.23. This allows for an immediate transition between the systems in the estimated non-linear model, and the results of the estimation confirmed the existence of a significant effect of oil prices on the volume of public spending in Algeria, and on the size of the money supply. Its purchasing power has deteriorated, especially with the decrease in public spending levels, and the reduction of social transfers, especially with the COVID-19 pandemic
