A Study Of The Malaysian Experience In Achieving Inclusive Growth Within The Framework Of Vision 2020

Authors : Bentoumi Imene .

Abstract

This article aims to analyze Malaysia’s experience in achieving inclusive growth within the framework of Vision 2020 by examining the adopted development policies and assessing their effectiveness in promoting social equity and broadening the base of beneficiaries from economic growth. The findings show that the development policies significantly contributed to improving human development indicators, reducing poverty rates, and expanding the size of the middle class, reflecting a trend toward more inclusive growth. However, persistent regional and social disparities, along with the incomplete transition to a knowledge- and innovation-based economy, posed real challenges that hindered the achievement of balanced inclusive growth. The study suggests that future policies should focus on enhancing innovation, improving social targeting, and strengthening governance to ensure more comprehensive and sustainable growth.
