This study analyzes the growth of public expenditure in Algeria over the period from 1962 to 2023 using wavelet analysis to identify fluctuations across different time horizons. The results showed that fluctuations are high in the short term due to economic shocks, while expenditure becomes more stable in the long run. The study also confirmed the role of wavelet analysis in understanding the nature of economic changes and the importance of adopting flexible fiscal policies to address shocks. The research concluded that diversifying revenue sources and reducing dependence on oil are essential for achieving sustainable financial stability.
