In light of the rapid expansion of new media platforms and the growing use of digital channels to spread fake news and disinformation, Misleading digital content has become a real threat to national security and sovereignty. This issue has attracted growing attention from international and regional bodies, especially the United Nations, which has issued repeated warnings about the impact of disinformation on state stability and human rights. In response, many countries—including Algeria—have moved to revise their legal frameworks and activate institutional and regulatory mechanisms capable of confronting this growing digital threat, which now carries significant political, security, and social dimensions.
