This paper explores the power of film to promote environmental sustainability. It examines the historical development of environmental cinema, from early nature films to modern works that address climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution. Key themes in environmental cinema are analyzed, highlighting the emotional impact and advocacy potential of films depicting ecological crises. The paper argues that narrative cinema, through compelling storytelling and emotional engagement, can catalyze genuine ecological action and shape public concern, ultimately serving as a vital venue for public discourse and intervention on environmental issues. Case studies of effective environmental films are presented to illustrate their real-world impact.
