Authors : Abadou Fadhila .

Abstract

Abstract: The translation industry is constantly evolving due to the increasing academic and professional mobility. As a result, there is a growing demand for new curricula that effectively address social needs and promote international communication. Translational training should include teaching models that emphasize competence-based training and an integrated approach to teaching and learning. This study aims to assess teachers' awareness of the CBA and their ability to apply this approach in their classrooms. It also seeks to evaluate students' participation in classroom activities and the factors that may hinder the implementation of this approach. Data was collected through a survey administered to 20 translation teachers in Algerian higher education institutions and subsequently analyzed using a descriptive-analytical research design. The findings of the study reveal that the CBA is inadequately implemented in the teaching of translation at Algerian universities. Furthermore, the results suggest that teachers are largely unaware of the CBA, leading to ineffective implementation in their classrooms due to a lack of training. Additionally, there is insufficient student involvement in classroom activities, indicating a failure on the part of teachers to engage students in the learning process. The study also highlights the ineffective and incomplete preparation before the implementation of the CBA, along with various factors impacting the implementation of this approach.
