Abstract: Cervantes' writings reached the Arab world very late as a result of the Arab "renaissance" movement that began in the nineteenth century by the countries of the Middle East, Syria and Egypt, and which later spread to the Maghreb, exactly in Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia. We had to wait until the twentieth century to see the first translations of Don Quixote into Arabic by Egyptians, among others, Al-Ahwani and Badawi in 1957 and 1965, followed by Attar and Atfa in 2002 and 2004, and then a partial version of the Tunisian professor Reda Mami, published in 2016, which is the latest version of the novel Don Quixote in Arabic. However, it should be noted that some of these versions are partial and incomplete due to the difficulty of translating the religious and philosophical dimension that the novel contains among other difficulties, and this is what we’re going to develop in this article.
