The smart contract is one of the modern topics that has garnered increasing attention in the fields of technology and law. This type of contract is characterized by its ability to self-execute once specific conditions are met, utilizing blockchain technology and digital programming. This ensures accuracy and speed in fulfilling obligations without the need for direct human intervention. This research paper aims to explore the concept of the smart contract while analyzing its compatibility with the fundamental principles of Algerian civil law. It also seeks to highlight potential legal challenges that may arise when applying this type of contract. The study concludes that the smart contract represents an innovative solution that could enhance the efficiency of the Algerian legal system in light of modern digital challenges. However, achieving this objective requires legislative amendments and the integration of new technologies into the legal framework to ensure a balance between technological advancements and the protection of individuals' legal rights.
