Reading and learning philosophy is not about repeating or memorizing its ideas, but rather about reading its texts hermeneutically to understand the fundamental principles and foundations upon which philosophers built their philosophies. The philosophical text is a message from the philosopher to the reader, consisting of a complex network of concepts and meanings, and a set of ideas formulated in specific historical contexts. The philosopher presents these to express his opinion on a particular issue. When we read it (the philosophical text), we attempt to extract definitions and intentions from it, meaning that the text is not complete without a critical hermeneutic reading to present a new philosophical text that reveals the underlying truth.
