Analysis Of Foreign Direct Investment (fdi) Inflows To Algeria For The Period (1970-2022): Wavelet Transforms Analysis Application

Abstract

This study analyzes foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows to Algeria for the period from 1970 to 2022, using wavelet Transforms analysis Application. Through this study, it became evident that foreign direct investment (FDI) did not experience a period of boom and prosperity in Algeria throughout the entire study period. On the contrary, the inflows were highly volatile and tended to decrease, reaching the point of being non-existent at times or even leading to the departure of investments from Algeria. At best, the inflows were very modest, not exceeding the threshold of three billion US dollars. The wavelet Transforms analysis provided a detailed examination of this in the study.
