This study examines the impact of integrating technology, specifically audio narration and visual aids, in teaching short stories to Algerian middle school students learning English as a Foreign Language (EFL). Hence, short stories offer an engaging medium to enhance language skills and literary appreciation, while innovative tools help foster critical thinking and interpretative abilities. In this study, 70 second-year pupils were divided into two groups: one taught with traditional methods and the other with audio-visual aids. Using questionnaires, interviews, and listening assessments, results show that students exposed to audio-narration and paintings demonstrated higher engagement and comprehension. Indeed, teachers reported that these methods enriched the learning environment, highlighting the potential of technology to improve literary education outcomes in EFL contexts.
