Islamic Sukuk As An Alternative To Bonds: A Strategy To Enhance The Performance Of The Algiers Stock Exchange And Strengthen Its Role In The National Economy

Abstract

The current study aims to learn about the importance of the Islamic SUKUK trading, as an effective alternative to bonds, to enhance the performance of the Algeria Stock Exchange, and to upgrade its role in advancing the national economy. The study concludes that Islamic Sukuk were introduced to meet financing needs within a framework governed by Sharia-compliant regulations. However, despite more than two decades since the Algiers Stock Exchange began operations, it has not been able to fulfill its role in the national economy.
