The Development Of Free Healthcare And Its Impact On The National Healthcare System

Abstract
The greatest achievement for the public health sector in Algeria has been adopting a policy of free healthcare as a concept and reality, embodied in the large, widely distributed foundational structures across the country. However, in reality, we see the sector struggling to fulfill its duties optimally. This failure does not stem from the fact that the services provided by the public sector are free for every Algerian citizen at any time, which causes demand to increase. Therefore, this situation raises the question of whether healthcare should be chargeable, where patients would pay a certain amount for treatment without involving social security. This could potentially lead to better healthcare development.
