The Precautionary Principle: From Theoretical Concept To Practical Application - The Case Of Consumer Protection

Authors : Said Daoud .

Abstract

The world has witnessed incredible technical advancements in practically every industry in recent years. Though this development has had many positive benefits, it has also led to the rise of some risks, such as the interaction between the customer and the intervening party, which puts the consumer's health and safety at risk and has prompted lawmakers to implement limitations. The consumer, who is the weaker party in the contractual relationship, has certain obligations that must be met. The most crucial ones are ensuring that the product is sound, providing security, and adhering to all legal and standard criteria. Because it is founded on the precautionary principle, which may be adequate to contribute to achieving consumer protection, this study intends to address the principle that evolved from these needs for consumer protection.
