Leaders' Responsibility In International Criminal Law

Authors : Mokrane Rima .

Abstract

International criminal responsibility of state leaders is an important part of accountability under international law. This article dives into the complexity of the subject, highlighting the legal duties and liabilities that state officials carry for their acts. It investigates the concepts and processes by which leaders may bear responsibility for international crimes. Demonstrating such culpability requires establishing a hierarchical connection between leaders and their subordinates, as well as proof that leaders failed to take essential precautions to avoid or rectify crimes committed under their command.
