The Teaching Of The Speaking Skill In Esp Classrooms: An Exploratory Study

Abstract
This study examined the practices which are employed by the teachers to develop ESP learners’ speaking skill in Touggourt City in Algeria. Therefore, ten learners with their teacher were selected from a private language school for data collection by using classroom observations. The findings reveal that various practices played a significant role in enhancing learners’ speaking ability. These practices include: the integration of different and technological teaching materials, selection of relevant themes, use of appropriate language structures, implementation of interactive tasks, application of effective instructional techniques, reliance on informal assessment methods, and providing immediate and constructive feedback.This study examined the practices which are employed by the teachers to develop ESP learners’ speaking skill in Touggourt City in Algeria.
