Assessment Of The Impact Of Renewable Energy Exploitation On Social Sustainability In Algeria During 2005-2023

Abstract
This study analyses the relationship between renewable energy exploitation and social sustainability, emphasizing the impact of renewable energy production capacity on Algeria's unemployment rate during the period 2005 to 2023. The Vector Autoregressive (VAR) model reveals a causal relationship between renewable energy production capacity and the unemployment rate. The analysis shows that random shocks to the unemployment rate have an immediate but diminishing effect over time, whereas the impact of renewable energy utilization on unemployment is delayed yet grows significantly in the long term. Variance decomposition analysis indicates that changes in the unemployment rate are predominantly influenced by its own dynamics.
