Authors : Maane Sarra .

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the various effects of weapons of mass destruction of all kinds (biological, chemical, and nuclear) on the environment. Biological weapons are considered as one of the most lethal and destructive weapons known, as they are used to deliberately cause epidemics among humans and to destroy the environment in terms of water, air, and soil. They are also used against crops and livestock, which are the core of the economy of some countries. The use of all kinds weapons of mass destruction constitutes one of the greatest concerns and challenges to global security and peace whenever international wars and conflicts are raised; this is owing to the magnitude of the damage and risks resulting from their use in the First and Second World Wars, as well as the tremendous development in the materials used in these weapons with the ease and possibility of transporting them anywhere in the world at present.
