Feminism, in its various forms—radical, liberal, cultural feminism, or others—represents subcultures that have emerged on the peripheries of the dominant culture, which traditionally dictates male superiority. The advent of cyberspace and new technologies has facilitated the articulation of feminist culture through the emergence of the cyborg, a fluid entity in terms of identity and gender. This phenomenon blurred the boundaries between humans and machines, and subsequently, between male and female. The feminist perspective on the structure of cyberspace posits that women, as cyber beings, not only require inclusion in the construction of electronic cultures as equal participants with men but also demand that new technologies promote human welfare and equality. This perspective argues that information technologies should not perpetuate existing power relations, injustices, or inequalities. Feminist readings emphasize not merely the use of cyberspace to disseminate feminist ideologies and politics but also its reconfiguration to serve women, the assumed primary users.
