The BRICS grouping—comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa—has emerged as a significant coalition within the global governance landscape. This study examines the evolution of BRICS in the context of its growing influence on global economic, political, and social agendas. Initially formed to enhance economic cooperation among emerging markets, BRICS has progressively expanded its scope, addressing issues such as trade reform, sustainable development, climate action, and multilateralism. Through a combination of shared interests and strategic divergences, BRICS has influenced key institutions, including the United Nations, International Monetary Fund, and World Bank, advocating for greater representation of the Global South. Despite internal challenges—ranging from economic disparities to geopolitical tensions—BRICS has fostered initiatives like the New Development Bank (NDB) and the Contingent Reserve Arrangement (CRA) to strengthen financial resilience and promote sustainable development. This articl evaluates the group's contributions to reshaping global governance structures, its challenges, and its potential to serve as a counterbalance to traditional Western-dominated institutions. The findings suggest that while BRICS has made notable progress, its future impact will depend on internal cohesion and its ability to adapt to evolving global dynamics.
