abstract The rapid growth of e-commerce has exposed it to a wide range of cybercrimes such as: phishing, malware, ransom ware, identity theft, and online fraud. this study highlights the crucial role of cyber security in protecting e-commerce by using tools like encryption, two-factor authentication, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems to safeguard sensitive data and ensure user trust. Effective cyber security measures are essential for protecting financial transactions and maintaining the privacy and security of customer information. However, challenges remain, including the rapid development of cyber threats, low awareness of security risks, and gaps in legal frameworks. By examining international regulations, such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), this study emphasizes the need for stronger security practices and international cooperation. It concludes with recommendations for investing in advanced cyber security solutions and developing legal standards to ensure a secure e- commerce environment.
