Authors : Kernane Abdelhamid . Mordjane Ikhlas .

Abstract

This intervention aims to highlight successful experiences of digitalization in the health sector in Algeria and shows how it affects the reduction of social expenditures and the improvement of the quality of health care. Concrete examples of digital transformation projects are examined in Algerian public health institutions, with a focus on electronic medical records applications, health information systems and telemedicine. The intervention synthesizes the results of a survey conducted among citizens and health facility managers to know their perspectives on digitalization in this sector. The results suggest that digitalization plays a vital role in improving operational efficiency and reducing administrative and medical costs, while improving the quality of care. However, more efforts are still needed to develop digitalization in the health sector and take full advantage of its potential to improve health services in Algeria.
