Gender Disparity: Examining Women's Presence In Algerian Sports Media

Abstract

To be a female sports journalist is not an easy profession as it may seem, since it is considered a profession long reserved career for men especially in sports which is an area of gender disparity. This paper is an exploration of Algerian women in sports journalism and the challenges they face in the field. The literature review about previous studies and theories, revolving around the presence of women in this domain, indicate that women do not have higher chances or brighter opportunities in sports sector. The purpose of this research is to investigate and explore the status of women in the field of sports journalism, as well as the difficulties that female journalists encounter while entering the sports journalism section in particular.
