Intellectual property, as a crucial catalyst for innovation and creativity and a necessary key to achieving sustainable development goals, has become imposing itself in all vital sectors to address all current challenges, such as the agricultural field, where sustainable agriculture has become directly dependent on protected innovations and technologies to alleviate the problems it suffers from. This sector is affected by soil degradation, lack of water, and climate fluctuations, especially the decline in food quality and the risk of food insecurity. However, the spread and widespread reliance on intellectual property in this sector may generate other challenges and risks, the most important of which is the control of large companies over agricultural production and control of most of the world’s seeds.
