This article aims to clarify the role of environmental media in achieving and supporting the requirements of urban development within a sustainable framework, based on sustainable development in its social, economic, environmental, architectural, and institutional dimensions. It also aims to identify the nature of media coverage of sustainable urban issues in form and content in selected magazines: "Al-Shorouk Al-Arabi", "Al-Hayat Al-Jazairia", and "Majallat Al-Umran", employing a survey method with content analysis both quantitatively and qualitatively. The study concludes that the press shows considerable interest in sustainable urban issues, with a relative difference in the degree of presence of its dimensions' indicators from one magazine to another. It relies on two types of internal and external sources in addressing national and then local sustainable urban issues towards a neutral approach. The analysis and interpretation are deemed important without making a positive difference in favor of sustainable development within a sustainable framework.
