Arab feminist literature represents the struggle of women to express themselves and overcome the obstacles that stand in their way. Women, particularly novelists, have used creative writing as a means to convey their suppressed voices, whether due to internal or external factors. However, this has created a gap between them and the male other, as they try to navigate through the challenges they face. The novels written by Arab women share common themes and goals. They often revolve around the oppression of women and the illusion of male dominance. There is a clear apprehension towards the female self and caution towards the male other. However, the aim of these novels is not to triumph over the male other or establish dominance. Such extreme thinking and aggressive culture are not desired outcomes. It is important to recognize that integration between genders is the basis, and anything less than that should not be considered the norm. Based on the above, we can highlight the characteristics of Arab feminist literature in its dialectic treatment of femininity and masculinity.
