The themeproposed in this article is the installation of the militarydictatorship in Argentina, the Rio de la Plataduring the Spanishcolonization. This political system is the consequence of the lack of experience of newlyindependent nations. The militaryoccupied power through coups, usingrepressivemethodsagainst the people. By choosing General Leopoldo Galtieri, our intention is to make a socio-economic and politicalanalysis of hispresence on the politicalscene, based on the degree of cruelty of hisgovernment and hisdecisionsthatledhim to harm Argentine society to the highestdegree. The last decades of the 20th centurywere full of change at all levels, whichpushed the president and head of the militaryjunta to seethemselvesobliged and in order to remain in power, demonstratetheirability to work for the good and for an international position of their country. The onlyway to ensure a positive image of itspolicywas to recover the Falkland Islands, whichbelonged to the British overseasterritories, a conflictthatbeganin 1830 and could not beresolveduntiltoday. Thus, taking as an example the Argentine dictatorship, wewillsee how the Latin American countries switched to situations not programmed by the minds of the independenceprocess.
