Abstract
This study aims to shed light on the state of Algeria's industrial sector and assess its economic contribution before the oil shock. It provides a forward-looking perspective within the context of new growth model policies and industrial strategies designed to diversify the economic structure and reduce dependence on a rentier economy. An analytical approach was employed to examine key milestones in the national economy and the anticipated future role of the industrial sector. The study concludes that the industrial sector faces significant structural challenges. It underscores the necessity of effectively implementing policies on the ground, moving beyond mere rhetoric and slogans, to achieve sustainable development.
