German-Algerian economic communication spans a wide range of genres, from formal state agreements to social-media posts, which differ markedly in formality, addressee orientation and communicative function. This paper examines how five central genres of this communication differ from one another linguistically and functionally. It draws on a comparative analysis of five authentic texts from the German-Algerian economic context (an annual report, a social-media post, a press release, a job advertisement, and a declaration of intent), examined through a text-linguistic analytical grid. The findings reveal both shared stylistic patterns – such as multi-part compounds, the nominal style and passive constructions – and clear genre-specific differences in structure, addressee orientation and rhetorical design. The paper thereby contributes to describing the genre spectrum of German-Algerian economic communication.
