This exploratory study aimed to determine the levels of visual and auditory selective attention and to assess cognitive inhibition capacities in two patients with multiple sclerosis. The study adopted a descriptive exploratory approach based on case study methodology, and was applied to two cases aged between 33 and 52 years. The cancellation test was used to measure visual selective attention, and the conflicting instructions test was used to measure auditory selective attention. The results revealed that the two investigated cases demonstrated difficulty on a task requiring inhibitory control and resistance to conflicting auditory instructions, while visual cancellation performance was relatively preserved. A marked disparity in performance was observed between the two cases. Given the exploratory nature of the study and the absence of a control group, these findings cannot be generalized to the broader population of patients with multiple sclerosis.
